Draft board sends me a letter

After weighing 250 pounds in high school, I slimmed down to 195 pounds in 1967 by eating just one McDonald's hamburger each day for a year. (Not recommended unless you are twenty.)

The very next year, the draft board sent me a letter.

I enlisted in the Navy to avoid Vietnam and got stationed in Kingsville, Texas where the Navy taught me to write for publication.

Built my own radio station 1962

1962 I built an AM radio transmitter and created a control room in my bedroom.

With a reel-to-reel tape recorder and vinyl albums, I did shows as a disc jockey.

I wanted to be a radio announcer, so I broadcast for an hour each night.

Sure enough, after graduation from high school I began a 34-year radio career.

22 to 29 feelings published in 2016

After writing folk-rock songs for about five years in the late Sixties, I attempted poetry from age 22 to 29

I was too restless to keep a journal and was scared to try a book, so I bought a stenographer’s notebook and started writing down my feelings

Finally, in 2016, I self-published the free verse in a book called Quietly I Reply.

whistling 1940s dead guy in INSIDIOUS

2010 On the film, Insidious. using airbrushes, and special material, it took 3 hours of makeup to transform me into a 1940s whistling dead guy.

My 2-minute scene with star Patrick Wilson made the final cut of the film.

Dee and Dale married 1957

Navy guy Dale Crews met my mom, and they became managers of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Lakeland, FL.

Hoping to create a family to include me, my mother and Dale got married at one minute past midnight on New Year's Eve 1957.
