Born a bastard child says grandma

Yes. It is true according to my grandmother (here after called Nonnie because that's what I called her.) I was born a bastard child.

She made sure to tell me. Since my mother conceived me on a couch in Wooster, Ohio before my would-be dad returned home to his wife and two children, I never met him.

To keep folks at home from knowing my mother had a child "out of wedlock" my grandmother chose Cedar Rapids, Iowa from the map and I was born there.

It's amazing that I am still alive at 77. No one knows why.

Named after a toaster

Since I had no father, my grandmother borrowed a typewriter and forged the last name "Camfield" on the birth certificate.

She chose the name from a toaster popular at the time.

Starting when I was two years old grandma began kidnapping me, taking me away from mom five times before I was eleven.

Born in 1946.

I was born a "bastard child" on August 27, 1946, according to my grandmother.

She felt my mom was a sinner because she became pregnant after a dalliance with a Marine who already had a wife and two kids.

My grandmother kept me away from my mother for twenty years by kidnapping me five times.

I saw mom infrequently until 1967.

Born in Iowa name changed in 1971

I was born on August 27,1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Dorothy Ray Amstutz, without a dad. (He already had a wife and two kids)

My grandmother (Nonnie) got a typewriter and forged my last name to Camfield, a name she had picked out of the newspaper.

I was Larry Camfield until 1971 when I changed my name to Lary Crews, to match my stepfather's name.
