First full-time radio job

My first full-time radio job was as a staff announcer at WJER Radio in Dover/New Philadelphia, Ohio.

I got the job in 1965, just a year after my high school graduation. I had worked part-time at three other stations, all in Ohio, the previous year. WWST in Wooster, WKNT in Kent and WTIG in Massillon.

I was awarded a show which my fans nicknamed SPINDIG where I could play popular rock and folk rock.

"Lary will spin the disks and we will dig them."

The rest of the station was easy listening music.
