I have never been on a motorcycle, but I worked in Eureka, California on Episode 4, Season 2 of Sons of Anarchy (FX), an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores an outlaw motorcycle club.
My first task was to walk down a sidewalk, look to the left as a dozen motorcycles drive-by, and continue walking. I did that about five times.
My second task was to walk down a sidewalk, passing star Katey Sagal as she emerged from her car and crossed the street. Four times on that one.
For the next hour, actress Brandi Savoy and I stood inside the liquor store talking softly until we heard the shout “rolling.” Then, someone would shout "background" and Brandi would hug me and walk up the street while I would walk down up the street, as a group of motorcycles passed by.
Because the scene involved two cameras and car action, we shot that scene about a dozen times. Then we went back to background holding.
It was an enjoyable day for me because we spent about 85% of the time working and sat around in holding for less than a half-hour all day.
